A large number of students are involved in a range of community service activities at Waldegrave 从 Years 7-12. We encourage students to take an interest in their local community 而且 to take up the opportunities available to get involved.
We have a long term relationship with S而且own Court, our local sheltered housing for older people. Each year all our students take part in Harvest Festival, Christmas 而且 Easter events with 而且 for the residents. Our community prefects visit residents on a weekly basis to sit 而且 chat, share tea 而且 biscuits 而且 play a game of scrabble.
In Year 11 students who volunteer can use this to help them gain the 市长奖 in recognition of their contribution to the life of the school 而且 willingness to help others.
In Year 12 students are encouraged to choose voluntary service as an enrichment activity. 这 could include working for a local charity, 在当地小学做志愿者, helping out at a youth project or in a care setting for two hours a week.
