The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is available to 所有 students who would like to take on the ch所有enge.
The Bronze programme will be launched in October, before half term.
银奖在十年级报名, 而且 we offer the Gold to students working in partnership with Richmond E的D Award. Over 260 students participate in the award each year at Waldegrave.
学生 take 6 months to a year to complete each stage of the award. We aim to encourage service to the community through volunteering, 实践技能的培养, 参加体育活动, 而且 a spirit of adventure in their expedition. All sections of the award require a regular commitment outside of normal lesson time for about one hour per week 而且 for a number of months. There are no absolute st而且ards of ability in each activity as it is 所有 about development of the individual.
Recent expeditions include Year 9 Bronze in the Surrey Hills 而且 Year 10/11 in Ashdown Forest 而且 the New Forest.
Gold participants can be registered through the school, but a greater level of independence is expected 而且 students will arrange their own expedition 而且 residential.
